Walz: Easy to like

He doesn’t carry a selfie stick, but he documents the campaign on the ground alongside VP Kamala Harris. There’s something genuinely appealing about Governor Tim Walz, whether you’re skeptical of Kamala or still Kamala undecided. Walz has a way of making you reconsider your political position on the Democratic nominee for the White House. Despite being Minnesota’s governor for over six years, he remains the approachable coach who anyone—team member or not—can turn to, knowing he’ll listen, and care.

Simply put, Walz is easy to like. On the campaign trail, he energizes crowds with his signature humor and light-hearted jabs at his opponents. When he critiques JD Vance or calls out Trump for being weird and creepy, he does so in a way that isn’t overly harsh but still makes you think about Trump’s actions and what Vance stands for. It might even prompt you to look up Trump and Vance’s policies and see how they align with what matters to you and your family. Trump may call Walz a “whack job,” but it’s worth asking: does Trump even know what that means?

When you think of Tim Walz, imagine a coach whose door is always open, someone you can confide in about your deepest fears and uncertainties. Whether it’s coming to terms with your identity or worrying about how others will react when everything is revealed, Walz is the friend who reassures you that everything will be okay. He’s not just there to fire up the team and push for victory—he’s there to support you, no matter what.

In November, a vote for Kamala is a vote for a friend in the VP office—someone who understands your fears and issues because he’s seen them firsthand. Walz brings confidence back to the middle class, promising healthcare solutions, tax breaks, and a return to normalcy in everyday expenses. He’s about making life more manageable, from affordable rent to living wages, so there’s something left over for a night out with your significant someone or a simple trip to Seven Eleven.

Like Kamala, Tim Walz offers a politics of joy—a feel-good politics where everyone has a chance to win.
