Siege on Hospitals
Here’s what’s happening right now on the ground at Gaza’s hospitals:
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society, a Humanitarian organization based in Gaza four hours ago posted an update on their X account regarding the ongoing siege at Al-Ahli hospital and an hour ago, they posted that “PRCS emergency medical services teams are still trapped in Al-Ahli Hospital in Al-Ma'madani in Gaza, hearing explosions in the area, along with intense gunfire. There are several casualties in the hospital courtyard about 30 meters away from our teams but they are unable to reach.” and at Al-Amal hospital it’s been 4 days with no water and no electricity, and this covers the organization’s headquarter at Khan Younis. But despite these challenges, medical intervention was still provided by the organization’s team and hospital staffs.

He also posted a day ago describing the on the ground situation at Shifa hospital “While working in an extremely difficult emergency situation, our hearts are with our colleagues & the medical staff in Shifa Hospital, which is under fierce attack by the Israeli army. According to reports from they are currently facing interrogation & abuse by the military forces”
UNFPA Arab States Regional Director Laila Baker, Unicef Regional Director for the Middle East Adele Khodr and WHO Director for the Eastern Mediterranean issued a joint statement regarding the state of hospitals in Gaza, “We are horrified at the latest reports of attacks on and in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, Al-Rantissi Naser Paediatric Hospital, Al-Quds Hospital, and others in Gaza city and northern Gaza, killing many, including children. Intense hostilities surrounding several hospitals in northern Gaza are preventing safe access for health staff, the injured, and other patients.”
