Qatar on Gaza
During the UN Security Council Briefing on the Middle East, Qatar's Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, asserted that Gaza is an integral part of the Occupied Palestine region. He emphasized that governance over Gaza should be entrusted to the State of Palestine, which was not in control due to a democratic election where Hamas emerged as the chosen leadership by the people of Gaza. The Prime Minister advocated a return to the negotiation table to uphold the 1967 agreement, facilitating the establishment of an Independent Palestine. In this envisioned solution, East Jerusalem would serve as the capital of Palestine, ensuring the restoration of rights for all Palestinians and ultimately bringing an end to the conflict, fostering peace in the region.
