Why Tim Walz?

So why did VP Kamala chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate? As Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg always said in his media interviews, this is a personal decision for Kamala. But from a strategic point of view, Walz fits the bill: he zero in on experience, serving as a member of the House of Representatives and a Governor of Minnesota, that puts his experience on both fields, legislative and executive roles. He supports legislation that provides a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, including Dreamers (DACA recipients) and essential workers. He believes in driver licenses for all, and Walz has expressed opposition to the involvement of local law enforcement in federal immigration enforcement. He supports policies that limit cooperation between local authorities and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to foster trust within immigrant communities. Walz is a smart choice for Kamala Harris this will bring her campaign right in the heart of the Midwest where the November elections will be decided.
