Ukraine Funding

Senator Chuck Schumer swiftly maneuvered to transform what was formerly known as a Border Bill into a Ukraine funding bill, formally called as National Security Supplemental bill, effectively stripping away the border-related provisions. This strategic legislative action garnered a decisive floor vote of 67-32, propelling the bill's progression. The legislation earmarks 60K in funding for Ukraine, with additional allocations designated for Israel, Taiwan, and humanitarian initiatives. Notably, Senate Minority Leader McConnell, along with 17 GOP Senators, joined forces with the Democrats in advancing the bill. In a recent tweet, Schumer underscored the significance of this development, stating, "The Senate has just voted to proceed to the national security supplemental. This is a good first step. Failure to pass this bill would only embolden autocrats like Putin and Xi who want nothing more than America’s decline."
