Trump’s 3 Problems

Here’s the on the ground reality for Trump, he faces three significant issues:

  1. Legal Troubles: His legal issues include the upcoming September 18 sentencing in New York for the hush money case, where he faces 34 felony convictions. Trump’s lawyer has requested Judge Merchan to delay the sentencing until after Election Day to avoid influencing voters' perceptions. However, Judge Merchan previously rejected Trump's appeal to recuse himself from the case due to his daughter's connection with a Democratic campaign firm. It remains unclear whether Judge Merchan will grant another postponement. Additionally, Trump faces serious legal challenges from the Georgia election interference case and the January 6 involvement, which can impact his campaign schedule, debate participation, and pose the unprecedented risk of imprisonment if he wins the presidency.

  2. Voter Appeal: Trump is alienating key voters essential for securing the White House. His controversial messaging and personal attacks on VP Kamala Harris have drawn criticism from GOP colleagues, who advise him to focus on policy rather than insults. His connection to Project 2025, a radical plan that proposes drastic cuts to healthcare, reproductive rights, Medicare, Medicaid, social rights, and taxes, is seen as highly unpopular. This has given Kamala Harris an opportunity to leverage these policies against Trump, potentially shifting voters away from him.

  3. Trust Issues: Trump struggles to build trust with American voters. While he targets Kamala Harris with attacks and promises, he has not presented substantial policy proposals that resonate with the middle class or address the concerns of swing and undecided voters. For example, his stance on Social Security and Mass Deportations is viewed negatively and fails to excite or attract voters. These trust issues, combined with his other problems, could significantly impact his campaign as November approaches.
