US on Gaza

The State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller, has released a statement from the United States rejecting recent remarks by Israeli Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir. Both officials advocate for the resettlement of Palestinians outside of Gaza. Miller criticized their statements as "inflammatory and irresponsible," emphasizing that the Israeli government, including the Prime Minister, has consistently stated that such views don't represent official policy and should cease immediately.

The United States has consistently affirmed that Gaza is Palestinian territory, destined to remain part of Palestine. Miller clarified that the vision involves Gaza without Hamas control and no threat to Israel from terrorist groups. "That is the future we seek, in the interests of Israelis and Palestinians," Miller concluded.
