FED Prison renamed Trump?
Today, Representatives Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), and John Garamendi (D-CA) have proposed a bill to rename the federal prison in Miami, Florida as the Donald J. Trump Federal Correctional Institution. This initiative comes in response to a Republican-led effort to rename Washington Dulles International Airport after the former president.
Connolly remarked, "When our Republican colleagues proposed renaming Dulles after Donald Trump, I suggested a more fitting option would be a federal prison. With Trump facing numerous felony charges and legal troubles, it's only appropriate that the prison closest to Mar-a-Lago bear his name. I urge our Republican counterparts to support this decision."
Moskowitz added, "President Trump's affinity for emblazoning his name on buildings is well-known. This is an opportunity to fulfill his desire to have his name on a federal structure."
Garamendi emphasized, "Donald J. Trump's unprecedented criminal indictments make renaming the nearby federal prison a fitting tribute. While MAGA Republicans evade crucial issues, we stand ready to address real challenges facing our nation."
Together, these legislators aim to honor Trump's legacy in a manner they believe reflects his true standing in history.
